As the Principal of Guwahati Public School school, I feel honoured and privileged to be part of an educational institution where every stakeholder is a learner and every day is an opportunity to learn and discover. We look at ourselves as a community of learners, where everyone learns including our teachers, parents & staff.
I believe in upholding high standards with an absolute commitment to strive to understand and improve the educational process, using team strategies, while wholly centering on student achievement.
WELCOME TO GPS
As early as in 1982, a team of dedicated persons of Guwahati thought of starting English medium school under the Affiliation of central Board of Secondary Education from class I to class XII with the aim of harmonius development of the child and blending them in all modern creative thoughts of education. Late Bidya Dhar Sarma, retired Education officer of C.B.S.E. was the main initiating force. His meeting with Late Indira Miri, Late Renuka Devi Borkataki and Late Pankaj Dhar Barua, men of resources, Philanthropists and lovers of Education solved the problem of starting an English medium school in the city.
